Villa A
The design approach was aimed at establishing an architectural solution that engages in a dialectical relationship with the existing structure, with the purpose of enhancing one of the few remaining buildings that bear witness to the history of the Borgata. Simultaneously, the design seeks to address the functional, comfort, and economic sustainability requirements of the client.
The project embraces the beauty of the existing ruins, preserving the facades, arches, and select walls that remain intact. The concept revolves around creating a serene garden surrounding the house, acting as a filter between the interior and exterior spaces. By setting back the volume of the house, the focus is on highlighting the ruins while seamlessly integrating modern living areas.
The gardens, framed by roof pitches, blur the boundaries and enhance the connection between the inside and outside. The design harmoniously blends historic elements with contemporary interventions, resulting in a timeless sanctuary immersed in nature.

The structure emerges from the overgrown vegetation, nearly collapsing to the ground, resembling a captivating ruin. Amidst the decay, the facades, internal arches, and a few remaining walls stand as fragments of resilience.
The project envisions a design that showcases and celebrates these remaining elements, intertwining them with a garden oasis that envelops the entire house.
The volume of the house will be thoughtfully set back, establishing a dialogue between the historic ruins and contemporary design.
This strategic setback ensures that the focus remains on the preserved fragments, while simultaneously allowing for the integration of modern living spaces that seamlessly coexist with the existing structure.
The concept revolves around the creation of a garden that encircles the house, acting as a transitional space and enhancing the connection between the interior and exterior.
